A season to pause, reflect and rejoice on Easter Sunday!
Inthe Church of England, Easter is the most important festival in the Christian calendar, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his crucifixion on Good Friday. It is the central event of Christianity, celebrating Jesus’ victory over death, signifying the “emptiness of the grave,” and providing hope. It marks the victory of life over death, providing hope to believers, and is celebrated for 50 days, starting on Easter Sunday.
Leading up to Easter Sunday:

This Lent, young and old will be praying, working hard to install recycling at St James’ Church and exploring night time wildlife in the churchyard with new wildlife cameras. We will learn about the importance of fresh water and basic availability of toilets by twinning our toilet with a new toilet in Africa for a community that does not have one.
Come along for friendship, new challenges, love and laughter as we learn to follow Jesus together. 11.30am every Sunday. There is a special Team STJ’s on Easter Sunday
This year’s Lent Book Club will explore ‘Resurrection’ by Rowan Williams. The second edition is available on Amazon and ebay as well as by ordering it at the Waterstones in town. Revd. Mark has some spare copies available if you need one.
We will meet over tea and coffee to discuss the first two chapters on Saturday 28th February, 10-11am at St James.
We will explore some specific passages in the book, and so you will not need to have read it to come along.
The second meeting to explore the remainder of the book (chapters 3 to 5) will be on Saturday 18th April, 10-11am at St James’.

We’d love to hear from you! Whether you have a question, need support or simply want to connect. Our church office is open Tuesday and Friday, 9.30am to 12.30pm.
